This is a country music all-points bulletin!
Kay Adams, after whom this blog is named, is one of country music's greatest singers. Unfortunately, she is also one of its most unsung legends. Not only are her first four albums out of print (A Devil Like Me Needs An Angel Like Me, Wheels & Tears, Make Mine Country, and Alcohol and Tears), but her fifth album, Made for Love (1978), seems to have disappeared. I can't find it anywhere. I've asked my local record stores here in New York and searched all over the net. A copy was sold in November 2013, but I've not been able to locate any other copies for sale online. And it ain't streaming, either! Session information is available at Praguefrank's Countyr Music Discographies. The track listing includes some classics that I'm sure Kay would do a magnificent job singing, including Kris Kristofferson's "You Show Me Yours and I'll Show You Mine" and"Stand On My Own Two Knees," which George Jones sang on Alone Again.
If you have any information pertaining to the whereabouts of Made for Love, please contact me at alcoholandtears@gmail.com.
